The Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I wins prestigious Eventoplus award as
“Best hotel/venue to celebrate an event in Spain 2008”

The well established Eventos magazine recognises best initiatives within the Spanish meeting industry.

The Group Eventoplus celebrated their third annual Meeting Industry Award ceremony on 8th July in Barcelona´s impressive Palau Sant Jordi. In the category of "Best Hotel / Venue for an event” the prize went to Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I- Business & City Resort, one of The Leading Hotels of the World and the venue of reference for established congresses and events in Southern Europe.

In the third edition of “e-days, the event show 2008”, the Hotel submitted its entry together with UK´s Gartner IT Symposium/ ITxpo 2007 event, celebrated in May 2007. This resort wide event took all meeting space and outdoor space available, including the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, extensive historical gardens, outdoor pool and meeting space within the hotel itself. The event hosted 1500, and the client was extremely satisfied with the result. A jury made up of recognised and expert players within the meeting industry rewarded the planning strategy and concept, the creativity and innovation, the implementation and production and the resultant impact.

The award was collected by Roberto Torregrosa, the resort´s General Manager and a representation of the sales team, led by Jose Miguel Moreno, Director of Sales.

The category in which the Hotel has been rewarded values the creative and versatile use of spaces, the creativity and the capacity to leave a lasting memory in the mind of the attendees.

Prats Fatjó – Catering &Services, with base in the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya and official catering supplier of the hotel was a finalist in the category " Best application of catering " with the event “Pool Party 2007”,  a yearly much awaited social event hosted in the outdoor pool and gardens of the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I , and attended by Spain´s leading DMC´s, Congress organizers and travel agents.
