Palau de Congressos de Catalunya

Located in the financial and business nerve centre of the city, The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya is part of the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I – Business and City Resort, which at the same time is surrounded by some 25,000m² of the most breathtaking 19th century gardens.

The Palau building itself was designed by Catalan architects Ferrater and Cartañá, who were awarded the National Architecture Prize for the project in 2001. The entire structure is made up of several different adjoining buildings giving the Palau its distinctive modular form. Natural light is a feature of the majority of the conference rooms as well as the marvelous versatility and functionality of the different areas (there are 35 rooms overall at your disposal), an auditorium with a capacity for over 2,000 people,... while the finest materials like quartzite and maple wood bestow a singular personality, all come together to ensure the successful celebration of any event.

• Auditorium for smaller events with seating for 350.

Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I :
The Palau forms part of the complex which offers the luxury of the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I, 5* G.L, with 432 rooms and suites as well as 14 function rooms available for your meeting needs with a maximum capacity of 800.
Encircling the Palau are the Gardens, a 25,000m² green area for you to enjoy and where there are two marquees which can hold up to 500 people, the ideal location for your business luncheon or gala dinner. The gardens also house an outdoor swimming pool, a singular and emblematic space that can be transformed into a private area to celebrate any number of different events.

Services
Enjoy the fare in any of our three restaurants. The “Polo Restaurant” offers an "a la carte" and buffet menu, located in the main hall of the Hotel, the Fresh Bar, a new concept in restaurant and tapas bar, and “The Garden, Restaurant & Lounge”, specializing in modern Asian cuisine, beautifully located in the centre of the spacious gardens. Furthermore, during the summer season we have an additional two dining areas at your disposal in the gardens.

Coordinating your event: To ensure that your event runs smoothly and is a success our team of highly professional staff will be on hand from the beginning to help you achieve this. Our sales, coordinating and maintenance departments all work hand in hand to plan and ensure the success of your event at our conference centre.

The collaboration of the prestigious catering service company, Prats Fatjó, with 3,000m² of kitchen space fitted with all the latest technology, all located within the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya is assurance that your event will have a successful outcome.

The Palau’s very own professional Audiovisual Department experts in providing state of the art technical assistance, equipment and the material to ensure the highest quality service for your event.

At the same time the convention centre is equipped with the latest technology and provides broadband internet access of up to 100MB and WiFi Internet connection in the central area which all together allows for almost 1,000 people to simultaneously connect through our wireless infrastructure.
